Goblins

Goblins have no culture or beliefs beyond the purchase and sale of merchandise. Their cities, if one is generous enough to refer to them as such, is often a row of shops and market stalls surrounded by heaps of stolen goods and assorted garbage. To a goblin, it does not matter whether their stock is ill-gotten or legitimate, what matters is that coin exchanges hands, leading to the involved goblin's improved status among their company. Goblins still make time for war however, their numerous trade mafias battling over commercial routes and markets the same way nations fight for land and resources. When one mafia claims victory over a particular territory, one can expect a sudden influx of narcotics, weapons, and other outlawed items to flow into the local market, and more often than not, disrupt the social order. Goblins care very little for the impact their trade has on other races (or even their own for that matter). Most rulers regard them as nuisances, and eventually resort to exterminating them once they have worn out their welcome.
